Between 1905 and 1937, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk visited Izmir a total of 18 times. The visit that began on October 11, 1925 was the 10th of these. As part of this visit, he honored Bornova with his presence at 5:00 PM on October 12, 1925.

Gazi Pasha's arrival in Bornova was greeted with great enthusiasm and affection by the local population. Reşat Bey, serving as the District Governor of Bornova, was the brother of the renowned poet Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and was the most prominent figure to welcome Gazi Pasha on behalf of the people of Bornova.

At the welcoming ceremony held at 5:00 PM, Reşat Bey delivered a speech expressing the love and devotion of Bornova's people toward Gazi Pasha. The ceremony continued with tea service in a warm and cordial atmosphere.

This visit was more than just an official ceremony; it was a tangible demonstration of the closeness and mutual affection between the people and the statesman during the early years of the Republic. Bornova witnessed one of its most significant historical moments that day.

Gazi Pasha arrived in Izmir. The 10th Izmir visit began.

October 12, 1925

Arrived in Bornova at 5:00 PM. Was enthusiastically welcomed by District Governor Reşat Bey and the people of Bornova. A tea reception and ceremony were held.

October 13, 1925

Visited Karşıyaka Sports Club. On the same day, he visited the tomb of his mother, Zübeyde Hanım.

October 14, 1925

Visited schools in Izmir. Met with students.

October 15, 1925

Visited the Bornova School of Agriculture. Met with the school principal and teachers, and reviewed the ongoing work.

October 16, 1925

Departed from Izmir. The visit concluded.
