Citizen Privacy Notice Under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698

As Bornova Municipality, we take measures to protect your personal data within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK” or “Law”). We process your Personal Data within the scope of KVKK and relevant legislation, in our capacity as “data controller,” for the reasons and methods explained below.

This Privacy Notice has been prepared in accordance with Article 10 of KVKK, titled “Obligation of the Data Controller to Inform,” to transparently inform you about the identity of the data controller, the method and legal basis for collecting your personal data, the purposes for which this data will be processed, to whom and for what purposes it may be transferred, the data processing period, and your rights listed in Article 11 of KVKK.

Your personal data may be collected verbally, in writing, or electronically through the Municipality's affiliated units, social media channels, and tools used for carrying out activities within the Municipality, using automatic or non-automatic methods.

Your personal data may be processed within the period stipulated by legislation or the processing purposes, and may be stored in both digital and physical environments.

Your personal data is processed under Article 5 of Law No. 6698 within the following conditions:

• Provision of explicit consent
• Explicitly stipulated by laws
• Necessary for the data controller to fulfill its legal obligation
• Necessary for the establishment, exercise or protection of a right
• Necessary for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject

By taking all necessary technical and administrative measures to ensure an adequate level of security in accordance with KVKK and relevant legislation, your Personal Data may be transferred to:

• Legally authorized public institutions and organizations in line with the requests of relevant public institutions
• Contracted organizations for sending electronic messages arising from public services
• Banks for the purpose of carrying out payment activities
• The Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, and the Court of Accounts for audit purposes

Within the framework of personal data processing conditions specified in Article 8 of the KVKK Law.
