About

About the Project

Guardian and carrier of an 8,500-year-old heritage into the future.

Bornova Miras is a comprehensive cultural heritage project initiated to preserve and pass on the values of Bornova, which has the richest cultural and archaeological heritage in İzmir with its 8,500-year history.

The project aims to document, make visible, and bring to all segments of society both the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Bornova, from archaeological sites to Levantine mansions, from the Homer Valley to nature walking routes.

In addition to preserving heritage sites, Bornova Miras aims to make these areas a natural part of urban life and to guide economic, social, and spatial development through cultural heritage.
