Built in the 19th century, this historic Levantine bathhouse is one of the most important architectural works of Bornova.
The Levantine Bathhouse was built in the mid-19th century by Levantine families living in Bornova. The structure possesses a distinctive design that blends traditional Ottoman bathhouse architecture with Western influences.
The bathhouse follows the classical plan of disrobing room, warm room and hot room. The domed roof system and use of marble are notable features.
Having served for many years, the building lost its function in the early 20th century. Today it has been restored and hosts cultural events.
